EU Boosts Military Funding to Ukraine

The European Union (EU) member states on Monday adopted a decision to boost a fund used to support military aid in Ukraine.

It was announced by Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

“This is already the second increase of the European Peace Facility funding since its creation in 2021,” said Borrell.

According to Borrell, the fund will be boosted by 3.5 billion euros (3.8 billion U.S. dollars).

“Ukraine remains our No.1 priority,” Borrell tweeted after the decision was adopted.

One month ago, EU defense ministers failed to reach an agreement on this second increase in budget. (1 euro = 1.09 U.S. dollars)
