Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan Dilshod Safarzoda noted that now more than 85% of air transportation in the Tajik market is carried out by Russian air carriers

Tajikistan plans to expand the geography of flights to Russia, everything depends on profitability and demand for them. This was announced on Wednesday by the director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan Dilshod Safarzoda.

“The Tajik side is ready to expand flights to Russian destinations. (…) Frequencies have been signed for flights to such regions as the Caucasus, Mineralnye Vody, southern Russia, the Far East. Carriers will open flights as profitability and demand,” Safarzoda said. answering a question from a TASS correspondent at a press conference.

According to him, currently more than 85% of air transportation in the Tajik market is carried out by Russian air carriers.

“From all international airports in Tajikistan to the cities of the Russian Federation, about 180 flights per week are operated by Russian airlines, and together with Tajik airlines – more than 200 flights per week,” he said.

According to the head of the agency, all conditions have now been created to increase the number of flights for both Russian and Tajik air carriers. He noted that there is a demand for Russian destinations, but a particular increase is observed during seasonal periods.
