SHRM Announces Former President Bill Clinton, 42nd U.S. President of the United States, to Participate in a Moderated Conversation on the Mainstage at SHRM23


SHRM announced that President Bill Clinton, 42nd President of the United States will speak on Monday, June 12 at SHRM’s 75th anniversary signature conference. The SHRM23 Annual Conference and Expo, will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada from June 11-14. There is also a virtual option for those unable to travel. Former President George W. Bush was the keynote speaker at last year’s SHRM annual conference.

President Clinton will be on the SHRM23 Main Stage, in a “A Conversation with President Clinton,” where he will give a unique perspective into his time as a world leader and his continued efforts since leaving the Oval Office as a global philanthropist and humanitarian.

Bill Clinton served as 42nd President of the United States of America from 1993 to 2001. During his administration, he worked to implement the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993, a monumental piece of legislation that continues to play a big role in HR practitioners’ day-to-day jobs.

“In our 75th anniversary year, never before has the HR profession, practices and human potential evolved to such a level of prominence and importance, than now. It is an honor to host former President Clinton,” said SHRM President and CEO Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP. “Since leaving office, President Clinton has focused his efforts on issues that are in line with building better workplaces and a better world by promoting economic growth, health, job creation, and sustainability. I know this will be a compelling and revealing insight from President Clinton.”

After his presidency, Clinton established the Clinton Foundation with the mission to improve global health, strengthen economies, promote healthier childhoods, and protect the environment by fostering partnerships among governments, businesses, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and private citizens to turn good intentions into measurable results.

President Clinton will join a lineup of over 200 speakers at SHRM23, including Starla Sampaco, Emmy nominated journalist and founder of career survival guide, Mitch Albom author, columnist & radio host, Zig Serafin is the chief executive officer of Qualtrics. Both in-person and virtual attendance will be available. HR professionals, CHROs, people managers and students will have the opportunity to engage on best workplace practices, discuss new data surrounding the great resignation, learn about the latest workplace trends and benchmarking, and explore how to build a better workplace culture. The SHRM23 theme, “Drive Change,” is in celebration of its 75th anniversary. “Drive Change” is a call-to-action to HR to enact positive change in their organizations as a means for supporting workers in the ever-changing landscape of work. Drive Change amplifies how SHRM’s current focus and resources continue to help HR professionals at all levels drive change in their daily work, in their businesses, and throughout their careers.
