United States, Canada to Meet in CONCACAF Nations League Final

The United States will meet rivals Canada in the CONCACAF Nations League final after both teams won their respective semifinals here on Thursday.

Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic scored twice as the United States routed Mexico in a fractious encounter at Allegiant stadium in Las Vegas.

Ricardo Pepi was also on the scoresheet for the US, who are unbeaten in their past five games.

Both teams finished the match with nine players, with United States pair Weston McKennie and Sergino Dest and Mexico’s Cesar Montes and Gerardo Arteaga all receiving red cards in the last 30 minutes.

Earlier, Canada advanced to the title decider at the same venue as goals either side of halftime from Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies gave them a 2-0 victory over Panama.

The Central American side were reduced to 10 men in the 89th minute when Eric Davies was shown a straight red card for violent conduct.

The CONCACAF Nations League final will be played at Allegiant stadium on June 18.
